Fighting Apartheid

Rusty Bernstein, pictured with his wife Hilda, was one of the foremost opponents of Apartheid, and was tried for treason alongside Nelson Mandela in 1963.

Any discussion of the history of South Africa must include Apartheid. Though Jews accounted for a small percentage of South Africa's white population, many Jews played notable roles in the anti-apartheid movement.
