The Germiston Synagogue is no longer in use but is still very much a city landmark.
From here, we spread throughout regions of South Africa. However, even when numbers dropped, our faith and traditions always remained intact.
Today, South Africa has a population of approximately 70,000 Jews. Over 80% of South Africa's Jews live in Johannesburg, 15% in Cape Town and 5% in other areas.
